One of the great things about the Internet is being able to remotely view web cams and local weather stations before you even leave home.
There is a network of remote weather stations run by amateurs that you can tap into. But please remember these are run by amateurs and may not be entirely accurate. They also give you the weather conditions at peoples homes and not on mountain tops. But they are still very useful and give a general indication of weather in the area.
Wunderground and WunderStation are two really good mobile apps that you can install to receive local weather reports from amateur stations.
Looking at local web cams is also is useful. Make sure you check time stamps on the images and that they are actually changing just in case the camera has frozen and is showing you last months weather. Also don’t forget you are not going to see much at night.
