Pegasus Explorer Scout Unit is open to all young people aged between 14 and 18 years. We provide leadership and citizenship training towards Duke of Edinburgh and Chief Scouts Awards. But most of all we have fun canoeing, camping, climbing, mountaineering, mountain biking and much much more.
We have been mountaineering and glacier walking in Switzerland, passed BCU canoeing and amateur radio licence courses, taken part in expeditions, international amateur radio events and passed DofE and Chief Scouts awards.
We have helped within the community by volunteering as Young Leaders at other groups, helped Rotary collect money to aid with global polio vaccinations and disaster relief, donated to Help for Heroes, helped to raise funds to maintain our building, and fixed the entry road to a scout camp.
We constantly look forward for new activities and adventures.
We welcome new members from all faiths, sexes and sections of the community. We also would welcome anyone wanting to become a leader. No experience is required just bags of enthusiasm.
Our fund raising for the next 12mths will focus on providing more expedition equipment to cope with growth and amateur radio equipment to train our radio operators to support expeditions. We are also starting to raise funds for an international expedition in 2017.
If you can help in anyway please contact us.
