Pegasus Explorer Scouts is part of Lilford District and Greater Manchester West Scout County.
We were set up 2011 as we had a group of scouts who were to old for their Scout Troop but refused to travel to the nearest Explorer Scout Unit. So in response to their request for their own unit Pegasus was set up. We still have some of these Scouts with us who are now training to become adult leaders.
Initial we were based at the scout hut in Ellesmere Street but rapidly outgrew the facilities available there. We are now based with another of our feeder groups 4th Tyldesley in their scout hut behind Holy Family Church.
We are open to young people of any background, sex, race or religion aged between 14 and 18 years. We have 18 to 25 who are leaders / network scouts and over 25 year olds who are leaders.
Have a look through our pages and you will see the wide range of activities we get involved including charity and community work, hiking, international expeditions, music, sailing, shooting, archery, canoeing, camping, DofE and so much more. If you like what you see come and have a chat with us.
We are entirely self-funding and always looking for help from local business or volunteers.

I am sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
There is a guide group that meets in HQ on Monday nights at 7:30. They are aged 10 – 14 years.
We also have a scout group that meets on Friday nights and I can put you contact with the scout leader. They meet between 7:30 and 9:00pm and aged between 10.5 and 14 years. They have a good mix of boys and girls.
For the over 14’s I run the Explorer Scout group which also meets on a Friday night.

If he is 6 he is old enough to join Beavers. If you have a look at the Beaver pages on our site you will find contact forms for both of our Beaver Groups.
He cannot join cubs until he is 8 but you could add him to the waiting lists by using the form on the cub pages.
