2015 Remembrance Weekend

As part of our annual remembrance activities we visited the National Arboretum. We were not sure what to expect. A bunch of statues and plaques? A learning experience?

What I don’t think we expected was what a humbling experience it would be. Seeing the different memorials to different ways people have served our country and communities. Seeing thousands of names of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice both during war and peace time. Kind of blew us away.

On the sunday we had our annual act of Remembrance at Church to remember the Astley fallen, most of whom have no memorial to commemorate them.IMG_0008

We will remember them!
